UNACCEPTABLE WASTE — RESIDENTIAL ONLY

Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, tires, and similar items are prohibited due to refrigerants, rubber processing limits, and landfill restrictions.

These items must be recycled through municipal or certified recycling programs.

Televisions, computers, monitors, printers, and electronic components are prohibited from landfill disposal under Illinois law.

These materials must be recycled through approved e-waste programs.

Lithium batteries, rechargeable batteries, alkaline batteries, fluorescent bulbs, and similar items pose fire and contamination risks and are not accepted.

These materials require specialized recycling.

Liquid paint, stains, solvents, adhesives, household chemicals, and cleaning agents are prohibited.

Any liquid waste, wet sludge, or saturated material is prohibited due to spill risk and landfill rejection.

Motor oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, gasoline, and similar automotive fluids are hazardous and not accepted under any circumstances.

Asbestos, regulated hazardous materials, chemicals, unknown substances, and contaminated debris are strictly prohibited.

No exceptions.

Propane tanks, gas tanks, compressed cylinders, and pressurized containers are not accepted, even if empty.

Needles, syringes, medications, sharps, and biohazardous materials are prohibited due to health and safety regulations.
